This is How We All Win

“When we try to pick out anything by itself, we find it hitched to everything else in the Universe.” -John Muir.

I truly believe that we’re all powerful creators, and that we need to choose consciously to end the suffering we’re all facing. We each are a part of the problem and need to take responsibility. I’ve been noticing with many people that they are creating a story when looking into the world. We all seem to have our reasons for why someone is on the other team, and you know what colors I’m talking about. We size someone up as we see them on the streets, in the store, or here online. Perhaps we remember some past remark or thing they’ve shared, and we often we’ve decided without a conversation that we know them based on this or the way they’re dressed, the way they talk, their sex, gender, race, etc. From there, if they’re on the other team we’ve cast them onto, then they must be against us, or even wrong, and at least not one of us.

When we get online and we ask why, or when we surmise, and do it in our echo chamber, do we really want to know? And when we cheer for our team and tell the other side to suck it up, we are showing no compassion. When we single a person out and cast them into a group, we cast out all the ways that make them human. That allow us to approach them and to find out truly why they may say, think or do the things they do. And in doing this, we are truly divided. They are our brother. They are our sister. Can we get back to this remembrance?

(And this goes for political figures too. They are humans who are doing the best they can whether or not we can innerstand it or not.)

How can we create a world that we want to when we are stuck here? What we need is a team of all of us creating new systems, thinking of better ways. I know many entrepreneurs out there that are doing just that. But we need more of you who are putting your attention and energy into something that will change the status quo. We need the strength to look at each other and find the ways that we are the same and yet unique. We all have something to contribute. We all want and need to be loved, needed, valued, heard and seen. When we can come back to this and re-member this, we heal.

Every time you see something in someone else you don’t like, look at what is inside of you that may be similar to this person that you don’t like. And maybe it’s not there, but if it’s not then use hoponopono and forgive them for what they don’t know. I know it’s hard, but we have to look at our projections, our shadows, our judgements. And we don’t have to like everyone either. We can do this while we call out the bad actions and behaviors, or even people that are dangerous. And we can also see the good in each person, while we can protect ourselves, our families, or create healthy boundaries when needed. It is not all black and white. I promise.

If you’re willing to look at how the media brainwashes us to continue to believe we’re right and they’re wrong, no matter what platform you’re on you’ll see. How much longer are we going to play this sick game? When we share with one another, reach out and support one another we become strong. When we lean into curiosity and truly want to learn from someone else and innerstand why through questions, through dialogue, through LISTENING, this is how we ALL win.

We can do this. And we can still keep our opinions and some beliefs. Yes, some may need to shift. But also what assumptions have you made today that you can let go of? Today is a new day. Set a goal for yourself to create a better you. To not take something personal. To smile at a stranger. To open yourself up to a conversation that’s uncomfortable. To expand and grow. And I promise, as we keep doing this, our world will become the world that we wish for it to be.
